mostly...... Just kidding it was pretty cool.
So my friend came over and she'd just done a cake making class. Being us for some unknown reason we decided to go through the effort of baking a really big cake. And to be honest it didn't turn out that bad. Of course we didn't have many (any) of the materials she used in her class so we made do. With a little practice I think we could be quite good..... maybe.
What you need:
|
- To create a kind of water color effect use a tooth pick dipped in food coloring. Smear small streaks of food coloring on the top of the buttercream layer, use a knife to blend it.
- Make about half a batch of plain icing, you don't need a lot. Water it down a little of it is runny. (we used a bit to much water and the icing dripped all the way to the bottom of the cake). Color the icing in which ever color you wish.
- Pour the icing into a squeeze bottle and run it around the edge of the cake squeezing with even pressure. You do not have to use all the icing.
- Decorate the top with fondant decorations. We also used sprinkles.
I have no idea if that's a great explanation or not, but if you do decide to try leave a photo in the comments and if you have any questions leave those as well and I'll do my best to answer. It would be awesome to see how your cakes work out.
